Officially inaugurated in November 2025, the Grand Egyptian Museum is the world's largest archaeological museum dedicated to a single civilization, built by Orascom Construction, in partnership with BESIX (50% owned by OC).

The museum stands adjacent to the Great Pyramids of Giza and spans approximately 117 feddans (490,000 m²), with a built-up area of 167,000 m².
The museum offers world-class exhibition, conservation, research, and visitor facilities. It currently displays 20,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts and has the capacity to house more than 100,000 artifacts.

The museum demonstrates exceptional engineering and construction excellence through its highly complex geometric design, which incorporates no parallel axes and no repeating angles. Its orientation toward the Pyramids of Giza creates a powerful architectural connection between Egypt's ancient heritage and its modern cultural landscape. Orascom Construction and BESIX applied innovative engineering methods, dedicated more than 120 million man-hours to the project, and delivered one of the world's most complex cultural landmarks.

For the first time, visitors can experience the complete collection of Tutankhamun's treasures under one roof. The museum features permanent galleries, temporary and special exhibition spaces, a children's museum, and virtual and large-format display areas with a total exhibition floor area of approximately 32,000 m². A dedicated gallery also showcases the Solar Boat, one of the oldest known boats in the world.

The museum also includes a conference center with a 1,000-seat auditorium, three 250-seat seminar rooms, exhibition and meeting spaces, a business center, and a press room. The Grand Piazza, open-air exhibition spaces, Dunal Park, Nile Park, the Temple Garden, and the Land of Egypt Park provide venues for a wide range of cultural, educational, and recreational activities.

Throughout construction, the project achieved 27.5 million safe man-hours, demonstrating unwavering commitment to global safety standards. Such a landmark project stands as a testament to Orascom Construction’s contribution to commemorating Egypt’s rich cultural heritage through world=class engineering and construction excellence.
