Orascom Construction PLC holds a portfolio of construction materials and investment companies that complement the Group’s core activities, including manufacturers of fabricated steel products, glass curtain walling, paints and concrete pipes as well as an industrial free zone and two facility management companies.
National Steel Fabrication – a market leader in steel fabrication, used in a wide range of applications. From power and energy to bridges and steelworks, National Steel Fabrication operates across four major facilities that collectively produce 120,000 tons annually. National Steel Fabrication is a wholly owned subsidiary of Orascom Construction PLC.
Alico Egypt – a leader in the manufacture and installation of glass, aluminum and architectural metalwork. With core markets in Egypt and North Africa, Alico Egypt has provided services for a range of landmark projects. It has a huge production capacity of over 250,000 sqm.
United Holding Company (UHC) – a 56.5% owned company subsidiary, UHC has a 50% ownership of the group, manufacturing construction materials that complement our core operations. As the primary provider in Egypt and Algeria, these are substantial. They include The Egyptian Gypsum Company, BASF Construction Chemicals and A-Build Egypt.
United Paints and Chemicals – as the largest producer of cement-based ready-mixed mortars in powder format, United Paints and Chemicals are used extensively across Egyptian and North African construction markets. The 240,000 metric ton capacity includes mortars, tile adhesive and colored grouts, to name a few.
National Pipe Company – set-up in 1993, National Pipe Company is part of a 40% owned investment. This long-standing Egyptian manufacturer mainly focuses on pre-cast and pre-stressed concrete pipes. Used primarily in water and wastewater in infrastructure projects, National Pipe Company’s two plants have a production capacity of 86km.
SCIB Chemicals – Known for their industrial coatings and decorative paints, SCIB Chemicals are primary providers within the construction industry. Their two plants in Egypt have a production capacity of 130,000 liters of paint annually. SCIB Chemicals are a 14.7% owned investment of the company.
