The East Nile Monorail connects East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital, spanning 56 km and featuring 22 stations and a depot.
The fully automated, driverless system forms part of Egypt’s 96 km monorail network and is designed to transport up to 45,000 passengers per hour, supporting sustainable urban mobility and connectivity across Greater Cairo.
The contract includes EPC works for both lines and, upon completion, Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for 30 years. Orascom Construction’s EPC scope comprises the design and build of all infrastructure and civil works, including stations, guideway structures and new depot buildings.
